What is that "ticking" or "dripping" noise?
There may be times when you hear a "ticking" or "dripping" sound in your floor or wall. These noises are associated with the expansion and contraction action of your plumbing system and are considered normal.
When the noise occurs it is because of the pipe expanding and contracting when hot water runs through the pipe and then it cools down again. We install our lines with approved hangers and oversized holes to allow for this movement. This sound occurs when the pipe moves while it is in contact with the wood framing.
